Billie Jean è una canzone del cantante statunitense Michael Jackson. È stata scritta e diretta dallo stesso Jackson e prodotta con Quincy Jones per il suo sesto album da solista, Thriller, da dove fu estratta come secondo singolo il 2 gennaio 1983.
Spesso viene considerato come il singolo di maggior successo dell’artista, in realtà è quello più famoso.
È riuscito ad arrivare infatti alla prima posizione nella Billboard Hot 100 e nella classifica dei singoli R&B, dove rimase per ben nove settimane consecutive. Negli Stati Uniti fu inoltre votata come miglior singolo dell’anno nel “The Village Voice” e ricevette due Grammy Awards nel 1984 come “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance” e “Best New Rhythm & Blues Song”.
Ricevette una nomination anche per il “Record of the Year” e per la “Song of the Year”, insieme a Beat It, altro singolo estratto da Thriller.
