Ricevette una nomination anche per il “Record of the Year” e per la “Song of the Year”, insieme a Beat It, altro singolo estratto da Thriller.

Intro:

MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI (x2)

MIm       FA#m/MI       SOL/RE                  FA#m/MI
 She was more like a beauty queen, from a movie scene,
MIm       FA#m/MI                SOL/RE          FA#m/MI    LAm7
 I said; don't mind, but what do you mean; I am the one?
                                    MIm    FA#m/MI  SOL/RE
Who will dance on the floor, in the round.
          FA#m/MI    LAm7                                     (MIm)
She said; I am the one, who will dance on the floor, in the round.

MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI

MIm           FA#m/MI        SOL/RE                 FA#m/MI
 She told me her name was Billie Jean, as she caused a scene.
MIm          FA#m/MI             SOL/RE                  FA#m/MI     LAm7
 Then every head turned, with eyes that dreamed of being the one,
                                   (MIm)
Who will dance on the floor, in the round.

MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI

DO                          MIm
 People always told me; be careful what you do;
          DO                               MIm
And don't go around breaking young girl's hearts.
    DO                         MIm
And mother always told me; be careful of who you love;
       DO                                SI7
And be careful of what you do, 'cos the lie becomes the truth.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover;
MIm            FA#m/MI     SOL/RE         FA#m/MI    LAm7
 She's just a girl who, claims that I am the one.
                      MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
But the kid is not my son.
          FA#m/MI    LAm7                       (MIm)
She says; I am the one, but the kid is not my son.

MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI

MIm   FA#m/MI          SOL/RE                       FA#m/MI
 For forty days and forty nights, the law was on her side.
MIm           FA#m/MI             SOL/RE        FA#m/MI           LAm7
 But who can stand, when she's in demand, her schemes and plans?
                                    MIm    FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
'Cos we danced on the floor, in the round.
        FA#m/MI       LAm7                                  MIm    FA#m/MI
So take my strong a-dvice; just remember to always think twice.
          SOL/RE             FA#m/MI
(Do think twice, do think twice).

MIm           FA#m/MI     SOL/RE                          FA#m/MI
 She told my baby we'd danced 'till three, then she looked a me,
MIm             FA#m/MI     SOL/RE             FA#m/MI            LAm7
 Then showed a photo; my baby cried; his eyes looked like mine.
                                 MIm          FA#m/MI  SOL/RE  FA#m/MI
Go on dance on the floor, in the round, baby.

DO                          MIm
 People always told me; be careful what you do;
          DO                               MIm
And don't go around breaking young girl's hearts.
    DO                                    MIm
She came and stood right by me; then the smell of sweet perfume.
     DO                           SI7
This happened much too soon; she called me to her room.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover;
MIm            FA#m/MI     SOL/RE         FA#m/MI    LAm7
 She's just a girl who, claims that I am the one.
                      MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE FA#m/MI
But the kid is not my son.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover;
MIm            FA#m/MI     SOL/RE         FA#m/MI    LAm7
 She's just a girl who, claims that I am the one.
                      MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
But the kid is not my son.
          FA#m/MI    LAm7                       (MIm)
She says; I am the one, but the kid is not my son.

MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI (x3),
MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE

          FA#m/MI    LAm7
She says; I am the one, but
                     MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE  FA#m/MI
the kid is not my son.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover;
MIm            FA#m/MI     SOL/RE         FA#m/MI    LAm7
 She's just a girl who, claims that I am the one.
                      MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
But the kid is not my son.
          FA#m/MI    LAm7                        MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
She says; I am the one, but the kid is not my son.
          FA#m/MI    LAm7                        MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
She says; I am the one, but the kid is not my son.

          FA#m/MI    MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
She says; I am the one,
         FA#m/MI    MIm  FA#m/MI, SOL/RE
She says he is my son.
          FA#m/MI   (MIm)
She says; I am the one.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover,
MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover.

MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover,
MIm      FA#m/MI   SOL/RE    FA#m/MI
 Billie Jean is not my lover.
